Who's There 03:40
Who am I to ask, what’s that my friend? Lost in my head singing songs for the dead Give it a name, who’s there? Flashes of a light reflect off my eyes Cold twisted souls sell me something to hold Give it a name, who’s there? Found me in the night all alone Give it a name, who’s there? Found me in the night all alone
2.
You’re in town I got a need to fill Hardcore, softcore, it’s all we know You’re all I need it’s something I can see You’re fine so far you're all I need But father of time takes another bite Slow down, there's no sound, and no escape What’s that sound let’s get another round Pour more, my lord, you're my escape Paralyzed in the garden, sends forth a reminder You’re feeling down, who holds the pieces now Roll twice, get loud, it’s all we do Hands made of glass, I broke another match No catch, have a grasp were half-attached We were flashes of light, this ain't reality Blank stares, I don’t fear, lobotomies I’ve seen all I can, I need another fix Dilate, to late and so afraid Paralyzed in the garden, sends forth a reminder Faces of the farrows; holds to superstition Paralyzed in the garden, sends forth a reminder Faces of the farrows; holds to superstition
3.
Catatonia 02:56
Who’s out there, what's there? Told of fear, who’s there? Run through me, Run through me Cold morning, crisp air It’s good to breath in Run through me, Run through me What’s that now, who’s there? Take care now; be fair Run through me, run through me Run through me, run through you
4.
You're a creature of reality, you’re a teacher of anatomy You’ll assist when the miles are free, you toy the line between your lovers and me Hibernation not a contradiction Falling over without our own suspicion Broken image what a night it could of been, flashing visions ‘til the light runs dim Witches and raptures Call on their servants And now we're walking without our legs, dead weight brings us over the edge Saw my double with the blink of my eye, say sayonara now we’ll roll up and die Sing the song and you’ll be set free Takes an hour but you’ll believe it’s three A passage to another kingdom beneath, a fine belief before you curl up and scream Witches and raptures Call on their servants Witches and raptures Feasts for their masters

60/26 04:21
Sang throughout the night some songs for our little friends Somewhere a sultan rides alone throughout the land Sent somewhere where we aren’t tied by the ends of our feet Free from what we beg of you tonight Let us be now that we’ve seen it all before our eyes Watching, waiting, for what now that we’ve seen it all repeat Saw the absence of our thoughts clash and race towards a resurrection Of our own fear that plants a knife to deep and turns Watching, waiting, for what now that we’ve seen it all repeat Standing like Martians in place of our own heads sound the clocks once more Stare above Forgive for I have Taken back what I have believed The same path we roam, nowhere to go Somewhere we know
6.
Southern winds across the sea, you'll know where I am in time A broken cross for those who try, a sanctuary for the blind Remnants of the those old remains haunt us to the core An eye for those who cross the plains, out there, so far Hey, you ride (ride) Hey, you ride (ride) Left you out of what we’ve made, sending for your remains Taking part in what we had, longing for the end An autumn draught leaves us to dry, somewhere so far Away from where we thought we’d lie, nowhere yet somewhere Hey, you ride (ride) Hey, you ride (ride) Hey, you ride (ride) Hey, we ride (ride) Run away, so far away
7.
Set out for you last night, in a drunken state of mind Some people just don’t know, whose to give it all for the show Saw a reflection instead Walking towards me in the night Took out a loan, let’s ride Set out for the last time Toiled up an old cliff side Broke down without a light Confusion takes its hold, redemption for the soul Saw a reflection instead Flashes of a old street lamp Walking towards me in the night A bastard told me I’ll be fine On my feet again, yeah On my feet again, yeah You Can’t stop me again, yeah You Can’t stop me again, alright
8.
Tainted charm, cold scars, relapse Human eyes, cold lies, in my head Bow down to your god Presence of the mind Twisted gun, so poised, and assured Rippled tides, yellow sky, cold and barren Bow down to your god Presence of the mind Bow down to your god Presence of the mind
9.
I watch the face before you fly, I cross the air between our feet I see you crawling on your knees, girl I take what you cannot deserve (Who are you?) you’re In my head (Who are you?) you’re In my head I stand beneath the air we breathe, I watch the hours slowly flee I listen for what we don’t hear Trapped beneath you and me (Who are you?) you’re In my head (Who are you?) you’re In my head (Who are you?) you’re In my head (Who are you?) you’re In my head

Riots 04:24
Harsh winds and tyrants roam the ground beneath our feet A warm touch invites us; heard the sounds that echo beside us Panic in the streets, caught a glimpse of the madness So they sing to us from their rooftops Songs of innocence, yet they are blind Dead eyes entice you like a mist that surrounds us Follow the sirens as they sound across the island So they sing to us from their rooftops Songs of innocence, yet they are blind from ignorance Stolen from a dream, and placed into a stream Of your fantasies; trapped yet free Place all your bets down Send forth your best now and Place all your bets down Silence that's treason Trapped in place Slowly drifting away So they sing
12.
Gone Away 03:50
Gone Gathered for a dance in the sun a chance for a man with a gun who kills for fun A sign in the shade points to the fear in our eyes; a feast for all who came Without the boar, no summertime nor rejoice Break through With thoughts to bend no sympathy, nor remorse Parasites in the night summoned for the thieves and their wives; wishful wakes A break in the light poisoned from the fear in our eyes, something we can’t see Without the boar, no summertime nor rejoice Break through With thoughts to bend no sympathy, nor remorse Father once told me of her eyes, in mid flight Battered horses ride through the night, for the last time Soaked up all the pain, now it’s time to abide, now it’s time for her to run Led astray, where’s your aim Masking light; gone away Without the boar, no summertime nor rejoice Break through With thoughts to bend no sympathy, nor remorse Stand down Without the boar, no summertime nor rejoice Break through With thoughts to bend no sympathy, nor rejoice Away

Saylo 05:00
Come through again, lone riders, take all they can Sometimes I’ve said, what’s to say? Sometimes we’re wrong Follow my lead, faint worries, seek out your own Take all you plead, stay true to me, what’s there to know Woke up beside my own shrunken head, I’m mad What’s that, I am not further detached truly Sought out, parked beneath a fallen tree, the last time Saylo Worn out again, strung out my friend? Patience comes in threes Sometimes I beg and plead for, the remnants of our youth Send forth I plead your armies, take what we earn Cold stares at last warm morning, fate finds a way Woke up beside my own shrunken head, I’m mad What’s that, I am not further detached truly Sought out, parked beneath a fallen tree, the last time Saylo Saylo

about

South of the Sun is one of those gems that is familiar somehow, yet takes the listener on a journey mapped out in new pathways. The album combines a raucous, dirty guitar sound with clever musicianship...vocals that are as in-sync harmonically as they are diverse in range...a rhythm section as daring as it is ornate and, at times, funk-a-licious. The two singles are the mesmerizing, “Catatonia” and the groove-oriented, “Witches and Raptures.” They are both soulful and in their own way erotic, both perfect for rock, alternative, and pure metal radio playlists as fuzzy alternative stoner sludge wrapped up in a progressive-rock take on the pop genre.

"Homage To Micah is a lush, ethereal instrumental arrangement that offers a Frank Zappa-esque respite 10 tracks into the album. Meanwhile Witches & Raptures is a delightfully intoxicating treat of twists and turns that rock’s greatest enigma would have adored." - Distorted Sound Magazine

"Straddling the line between progressive rock and stoner rock, following the path laid out by bands such as Mastodon and Huntsmen, this Philadelphian quartet have created a thoughtful and intricate album that requires repeated listens and a bit of concentration to fully appreciate" - Emerging Rock Bands Magazine

"You’ll find yourself expressing your enjoyment externally as much as internally when tracks like Who’s There, Witches & Raptures and later, tracks like Presence of the Mind, Riots and Gone Away. Just a small selection from an album that is unswervingly interesting and continuously fun. Never quite one thing or another, the blend of musical influences and how The Stone Eye shapes them around their own musicianship makes this one hell of a memorable listen." - Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life
